About me

I’m an amateur photographer. Photography has been my hobby for decades but I have not been very active with it. The transition from film to digital cameras almost killed my interest to photography. The early digital point and shoot (PS) cameras left no room for manual control and digital SLR’s were too pricey for me. I bought my first digital SLR camera a few years ago and since then my interest has returned.

I learned the basics; exposure, aperture, shutter speeds etc. as a young boy but that is the easiest part in photography. What is more difficult to learn is how to make better photographs. To grow as a photographer, I enrolled to The Open College of Art to study photography in a systematic way. Hopefully I learn to see and create better photographs and understand better what makes a photograph a good photograph.

I was born 1961 and I’m not planning to make photography my new career but it’s never a bad idea to study something new. At the moment I feel that I’m aiming towards the BA Hons in Creative Arts.
